Not all adventures require a passport. Some simply require a reservation for afternoon tea.
Hello, reader! Welcome back!
In case you didn’t know, I love a good list. Currently, I have several running lists in both digital and paper form. One of those lists consists of restaurants, coffee shops, and tea rooms I’d like to visit while I’m here in Arizona.
Unfortunately, my list seems to grow daily without much hope of ever shrinking. Fortunately, thanks to my friend Vanessa, I was finally able to cross Drink Me! Tea Room off my list after four long years!
Atmosphere & Décor
I expected Drink Me! to be crowded on a Saturday afternoon, but to my surprise, it was relatively quiet and empty. Aside from our group, there was only one other table of ladies enjoying lunch nearby.
The décor looked like something straight out of Alice in Wonderland, with a little Halloween magic mixed in for October. The room was filled with rabbits, teacups, skeletons, cauldrons, and ghosts. Some decorations were three-dimensional, while others were hand-painted or drawn.

In the hallway leading to the bathrooms, there was a painting of the Cheshire Cat, along with quotes from the book.

One of my favorite spots was a cute little vignette in the front corner, complete with bookshelves, two purple Queen Anne-style chairs, and a fireplace. It was the perfect cozy nook for two people to sip tea and enjoy an intimate conversation.

Drink Me! is definitely a photo-worthy destination, with plenty of opportunities to snap a few memorable pictures.
Food & Drinks
Since we had already selected the Literary Afternoon Tea experience ($49 per person) during the reservation process, our waitress started us off with tea.
I ordered the Violet Fairy tea, and it was simply delightful! It was fruity, flavorful, satisfying, and PURPLE—my favorite color! In my opinion, it was the best-tasting tea at our table.

Unfortunately, the food was underwhelming.
The Literary Afternoon Tea tray featured an assortment of sweet and savory vegan and vegetarian bites. I preferred some of the sweet treats over the savory options.
I noticed that most of us didn’t eat very much. At first, I assumed we were simply too excited and distracted by our surroundings to focus on the food.

However, when I brought the leftovers home—and there were plenty—I realized our excitement wasn’t the reason we hadn’t eaten much.
The food was either bland or dry.
Mommy confirmed my suspicions when she tried some of the leftovers. So, it wasn’t just me!
Service
The service was efficient and courteous. Our waitress did a wonderful job explaining the menu and gave us plenty of time to make our selections while we chatted the afternoon away.
She was also kind enough to take several pictures of us during our visit, which I appreciated.

Final Thoughts
Our visit to Drink Me! Tea Room was whimsical, relaxing, and fun.
There’s nothing quite like spending an afternoon with good friends, catching up, gossiping, sipping tea, and enjoying a few treats.

Although the food didn’t quite meet my expectations, the adorable décor, welcoming atmosphere, and excellent service made the experience worthwhile.
Would I recommend Drink Me! Tea Room? Absolutely—for the atmosphere and service! However, I wouldn’t necessarily recommend it for the food unless you’re specifically looking for a vegan or vegetarian afternoon tea experience.
Sip, Savor & Score
Nestlie’s Final Score: 74/100
The whimsical atmosphere, comfortable setting, and excellent service earned high marks. Unfortunately, the food and overall value left a little to be desired.

Hints & Tips
- Check the online menu carefully. The menu descriptions were fairly brief during my visit. They provided a general idea of the offerings, along with photographs and prices. To explore the tea selections, I had to visit the online store.
- Make a reservation. When we booked, a $10-per-person reservation deposit was required and applied toward our final bill.
- Parking is convenient. Drink Me! Tea Room is located in a small shopping center with free parking available.
These details reflect my visit in October 2026. Menus, prices, and reservation policies may change.
